The Coming of Elijah

                On these next few pages, I will answer these questions:

1)      What will Elijah do?

2)      Why would he come at this point in time?  And to whom will he be sent?

3)      What I have had to do to become Elijah.

My ministry in a nutshell:

9Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy king comes unto thee; he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, even upon a colt the foal of an ass.  (Zech.9.9 KJV)

Now, here I am, I am the ass bearing the Word of God.  Indeed; the Lord showed me this many years ago before I had any idea that I was Elijah, but now I realize what God has made me, namely, one to bear the truths of God.  This should take the wind out of the sails of you critics who suppose I have come as some great one, but you will see that I do not bear the sword of the Lord in vain.

What will Elijah Do?

                I went to Google and typed in 'Elijah,' and received back 12,900,000 hits; I typed in Elijah the Prophet, and received 1,090,000 hits; seems everyone wants to talk about Elijah, but I have not found ONE person, great or small, who knows anything about Elijah at all.

          First, at the coming of Elijah when God presents him to the world, the Tribulation will begin, because he will begin to preach the Gospel, which the world has never heard.  When you go to these sites, you cannot imagine the varied ideas about what he is like or what he will do, when it is all clearly shown in Scripture.   You will ask, 'Well then, are you saying the Tribulation has begun?'   No, the Tribulation has not begun; I am in a very tiny corner; very few have heard of me, but when God stands me up, I will be known far and wide very quickly.

                So, let us begin here:

3The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Isa.40.3-5 KJV)

So, how many of you want-to-be Elijahs out there can decipher this?  NONE OF YOU!  Because God has given it to me; I am the Elijah to come whether you can receive it or not, and how do I know this text is speaking about Elijah?  Because this text is also quoted here:

1The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Even as it is written in Isaiah the prophet,

Behold, I send my messenger before thy face,

Who shall prepare thy way.

The voice of one crying in the wilderness,

Make ye ready the way of the Lord,

Make his paths straight..

(Mk.1.1-3 ASV)

This messenger is found here:

1Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant, whom ye desire, behold, he comes, saith the LORD of hosts. But who can abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appears? for he is like a refiners fire, and like fuller's soap..'     (Mal.3.1,2 ASV)

So, we have these three texts to deal with first so lets start with the last one.

                Many assume that when he speaks of the Lord in the above text that he is speaking of Jesus Christ, but that is not so; the word Lord in this context comes from the Hebrew word adon and is NEVER used as God's name, but the word means master, lord, owner, as a household owner or overseer, or as they called John the Baptist, teacher, but it is not speaking of God or of the Son; it is speaking of Elijah.  You may see this if you use Young's Analytical Concordance.

                Obviously, when it says, 'Who shall stand when he appears? for he is like a refiners fire and a fullers soap;' Elijah will have the wherewithal to expose those who preach lies and falsehood; he will rebuke and expose them so that none of these great icons who now stand on television and elsewhere to abuse, confuse, and lie about the truth, will escape; he will be their undoing to the uttermost, and they will NOT be able to stand before him with their twisted misuse of the Word of God.  If you have listened to me on the radio, you will hear me undoing them on every point and every lie they preach.    But I have sat at the feet of Jesus Christ for 50 years OUTSIDE the church world, and without their bias.

               Now, I could get rough with you want-to-be Elijahs, but God will deal with you; your people will see through you soon enough, and for those of you among the Jews who suppose Elijah will come and restore your traditions, you will be looking in vain; Elijah will be your undoing as well.

                So, lets take the first text and briefly go over it; I have a virtual heap of Scripture to go over to show you what I will do and teach let us begin here again:

3The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Isa.40.3-5 KJV)

When it says, '..in the wilderness..', there are, as in so many Scriptures, two ways to understand inspired words; the first is to understand them outwardly (ie. superficially), as it appears in the physical realm; the second is to realize its spiritual application.  In the first place, I do live in a wilderness; we live about 50 miles from a gas pump and several miles from the nearest telephone hook up.  We generate our own electricity with the use of solar panels and surplus military generators; we have analog cell phones; we catch rain and snow water for domestic purposes, and otherwise enjoy the quiet where it is conducive to seeking God and studying His Word which my wife and I do continually.

               The 'wilderness' can also be interpreted as this morass of religious garbage that one may view everywhere on television, radio (both am, fm, and short wave); on every street corner (note Eze.16.16,24,31,39 etc., etc.), and everywhere on the Internet; the world is permeated with religious junk food of every sort.  How many denominations are there? yet there are NONE who teach the truth of Scripture; there are NONE who seek after God; there are NONE who know Him, as it is written:

    '...as it is written,

    There is none righteous, no, not one;

    There is none that understands,

    There is none that seeks after God;

    They have all turned aside, they are together become unprofitable;

    There is none that doeth good, no, not, so much as one:

    Their throat is an open sepulchre;

    With their tongues they have used deceit:

    The poison of asps is under their lips:

    Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

    Their feet are swift to shed blood;

    Destruction and misery are in their ways;

    And the way of peace have they not known:

    There is no fear of God before their eyes.

       (Rom.3.10-18 ASV)

This is a perfect description of this present church world, from one end of the spectrum to the other, no matter what denomination; they ALL are described here.  There is not ONE out there who has it together; there is not ONE who knows the truth; there is not ONE who knows God; they all have gone their own way and have taught naught but lies and falsehood.  There is no fear of God in them so that they have no compunction about telling lies.

                You might not want to believe this, but neither have you spent nearly half a century comparing this present religious system with the Scriptures; I have.

The way

               Indeed; the way of peace they have not known, but Elijah will show you the WAY and since that is the first thing mentioned in Isa.40.3, let us define the WAY; we first go to where God takes Elijah the Tishbite up onto a mountain:

9And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?  And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.  And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:  And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.  And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave.  (1 Kg.19.9-13 ASV)

So now you are going to see your first glimpse at what Elijah will do; God was not in the great strong wind; God was not in the earthquake which shook the mountains; God was not in the fire which consumed everything near it, but where did God appear? where was He found?  In a still small voice.  What voice?  Here:

18And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you; and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for Jehovah is a God of justice; blessed are all they that wait for him.  For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; you shall weep no more; he will surely be gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear, he will answer thee.   And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be hidden anymore, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers;  and thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it; when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.  (Isa.30.18-21 ASV)

What is he talking about?!  He is talking about your CONSCIENCE; God will lead you in the WAY by your conscience; hard to believe?  No; listen:

But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned..  (1 Tim.1.5 ASV)

And this:

19Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him: because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God; and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.  (1 Jn.3.19-22 ASV)

And why is it that people cannot understand the Scriptures?  The answer is given in many places but here is what Jesus said:

10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? And he answered and said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.  For whosoever has, to him shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but whosoever has not, from him shall be taken away even that which he has.  Therefore speak I to them in parables; because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.  And unto them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith,

      By hearing ye shall hear, and shall in no wise understand;

      And seeing ye shall see, and shall in no wise perceive:

      For this people's heart is waxed gross,

      And their ears are dull of hearing,

      And their eyes they have closed;

      Lest haply they should perceive with their eyes,

      And hear with their ears,

      And understand with their heart,

      And should turn again,

      And I should heal them.

      (Mt.13.10-15 ASV)

Here is the reason: the people, that is God's people, have hardened their hearts because they do not want to hear the truth or see it to understand it, because it convicts them; they do not want anything to do with it because it reveals their sins and their wicked life style; they do not want to change, they refuse correction, therefore God will not open His Word to them, as Jesus went on to say:

1In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?  And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them,   and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.  Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.  (Mt.18.1-4 ASV)

Unless you humble yourselves to God, you will not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, and Jesus calls this being born of spirit in John 3.  This is what God's people are unable to do; although when they first turned to Him, they did humble themselves, but along the way they were taught that they had all the promises of God without having to change or to become obedient to the Word of God, so they became complacent, comfortable, and full of pride which now prevents them from entering into the Kingdom of Heaven and God.

                Do you hear?!  Elijah will show you that in order to find God you will seek to have a good conscience and a pure heart before God, things you do not now possess.  He will show you how to be born of the Spirit and how to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, things which none of your ministers know anything about.

                Therefore, when Jesus said,

13Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. 14For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leads unto life, and few are they that find it.  (Mt.7.13,14)

That WAY is to have a good conscience, and to be walking in all the truthes of God; I will be instructing you and showing you HOW to obtain a good conscience toward God.  There is a great deal to say about that, and if you listen to me, you will hear me talk about it.

Make straight in the desert a highway

                Here is the next thing to make STRAIGHT a highway; the word straight comes from the Hebrew word yashar which means righteous or right, or upright, as here:

41    Yet sets he the needy on high from affliction,

      And makes him families like a flock.

42   The upright shall see it, and be glad;

      And all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43   Whoso is wise will give heed to these things;

      And they will consider the lovingkindnesses of the LORD.

      (Psm.107.41-43 ASV)

So that Elijah will show a righteous or upright WAY according to the Word of God.

                Then He talks about a HIGHWAY, which comes from the Hebrew word mesillah which is otherwise translated to, path, or course, as here:

7    The highway of the upright is to depart from evil:

      He that keeps his way preserves his soul.  (Pro.16.17  ASV)

Are you beginning to get the picture?  Elijah is not in the road building business as one might suppose, looking at Isa.40.3-5 superficially.  But rather will first of all show what is required of all who seek God, to walk in His ways and to become obedient to Him.

Every Valley shall be exalted

                And when it says,

                'Every valley shall be exalted...'

Of course, a valley is a low place, as here:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou     art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  (Psm.23.4 ASV)

So that Elijah will lift up the things which have been cast down, namely those who have been cast away and cast down by the church world; those who have been rejected and despised, even as Paul spoke of those whom God would choose:

26For behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  but God chose the foolish things of the world, that he might put to shame them that are wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;  and the base things of the world, and the things that are despised, did God choose, yea and the things that are not, that he might bring to nought the things that are;  that no flesh should glory before God.       (1 Cor.1.26-29)

See: out there in the church world, who is it that has the honor and the glory of men?  It is the rich, the good looking, the educated, the great.  But when Elijah comes, he will lift up the downcast, and the rejected and the despised among men; do you hear me you blacks and Hispanics?!  Do you hear me you poor and despised, you uneducated and debased?!  I will show you a WAY that will give you an inheritance in Heaven which none of these great ones will have; I will show you how to obtain the promises of God which come through humility and self-denial, things you already know.  So, be encouraged.

The High and the Mighty brought down

And then we read this:

'...and every mountain and hill shall be made low.  (Isa.40.4)

Well, at this point I don't need to tell you what this is saying, but the word 'low' comes from the Hebrew word shapel which means to be HUMBLED; yes, and am I going to enjoy this!  I am going to take the Word of God, which is the Sword of the Lord, and cut down these high and lofty trees, these big organizations, these mega churches, these religious radio dynasties and television empires; I am going to expose them by the Word of God and reveal their lies and falsehood, as Isaiah says:

13Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.  Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it.  And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled...'   (Isa.5.13-15 KJV)

And guess who is going to humble these people?!  Indeed: Elijah is going to bring them down to sit in the dust by exposing them for what they are: frauds, deceivers, liars, and wild beasts who speak great swelling words of vanity...

The Crooked made straight, the rough places Plain

                Indeed, as it says,

'...and the crooked shall be made straight...'  (Isa.40.4)

So, do I have to tell you how else the word crooked is translated?!  Yes, it is also translated to, 'deceitful', and 'polluted'.  And the word 'straight' is also translated to 'plain', as here:

11  Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies.'  (Psm.27.11 KJV)

It simply means to make something easy to understand or to transverse, as a level place to walk. So, what will I do?  I will be undoing the lies and falsehood of this present religious world by showing forth the truths of the Word of God in easy plain ways to understand.  I can do this.

                And then when he says,

'...rough places plain,'

The meaning of the phrase 'rough places plain', by now is obvious; Elijah will take that which is difficult to comprehend and to understand, and will make it easy to understand; he will take all the things which seem so hard in the Scriptures and will make them easy to understand, so that the Word of God can be understood from cover to cover, something never done before in this generation; this may sound boastful, but I cannot apologize for what God has made me, nor will I deny it.
