This picture was taken about 2004...

Where I study
Here is the my latest work station: the new computer is on the right behind the concordance;
it is a new Gateway GT 4024; has Pentium D (a duel processor so you can do two things at once,
such as burning a CD, and working on a document); has 2.66 gHz speed, 1 gig of RAM,
the hard drive is 250 gigs; has a DVD/Writer/Burner; Windows XP Media Center
is intalled. I use Word 2000 for word processing (works for me; I don't see any
reason to fix it if it ain't broke); on the left of the monitor, is my old work horse, another
Gateway seven years old but slow (500 mgHz speed), with a 40 gig hard drive, and
Pentium 3. You can see my Canon Pixma MP 600 printer/copier/scanner
above on the shelf. To the right of the open Bible, is my new 19" flat monitor. To the right on the
table is my new Gateway notebook; Pentium 4, 1.6 gHz speed, 80 gig hard drive, Windows XP
installed; this is the one I will take with me in my travels. All three computers are
hooked up to the Internet. For real efficiency, however, there is my Canon Power Shot S2
IS Ditial camera; with my old Canon AE-1 (a very good camera in its day)
I would shoot a roll of film, then take it to town and have it processed in one hour at
Walmart, then bring it home, scan it on my old Visioneer scanner (to the right of my
new computer), then put it up with my old satellite system; the up speed up was
about 55k, the down speed was about 200k, so that it sometimes took 20 minutes
to upload one picture. Now, with this Canon Power Shot, I can take a picture
load it into my computer in about 30 seconds, and put it up on one of
my web sites in 20 seconds, and where I want it in three more minutes,
and have it all published in something like 4 minutes more; total time about ten minutes.
My satellite now has an up speed of 500k and a down speed of 2 Mg (of course,
I know there are much faster speeds as my youngest daughter likes to tell me that
here system has a speed of 2 gigs); I can also adjust the pixels from 2600 x 2000 pix
down to 320 x 240 pixs; I have it set at 650 x 450 pixs which still is a very good
resolution. I also have, not seen in this picture, is a four drawer CD copier, and
two other computers; one is a Gateway 4100 with a 40 gig hard drive, and 2.6 gig speed
with Pentium 4; the other computer is a generic with Windows 98 installed.
Finally, I have no less than three satellite systems, two of which I will
not activate until things get going...and you have to understand this: of course,
I know there are better computers and cameras and printers...but the point is
that what I have works for me and is as fast and as efficient an I can possibly use;
I have not listed all this simply for bragging rights, but to show that I am able to
communicate efficiently.
Other Stuff
Where the radio controlled wall clock is now will be the painting of Jesus on the stake;
it will keep me thankful and humble when I am hurting. You can see
open Bibles, cables, switches, power strips, and assorted paraphernalia;
telephone, CB mike, book shelves on the right, and in the shelves to the left is a CD
recorder. I built the tables and shelves, and the whole building, in fact.
This is where I study and research the Word of God 12 to 14 hours a day;
the only other things I do, which do take up some of my time, is to run generators,
and to keep the place going. What you see on the monitor is the study I am doing of the
Mystery of Seven Stars.

Outside the Study
Here is a view of the east end of my study; the overall dimensions are 12' x 30'; you can see two of the three satellite dishes, the yeggi telephone antenna, and the CB antenna (to the left of the yeggi antenna); I built this in 1985 and added on in 2004. In the foreground is a choya cactus. The trees are cedars; some are over 1000 years old. There are many artifacts of the early inhabitants going back at least 2500 years. We have extremes of weather; it has been down to about 25 below zero (F), and as high as 110 (F) or so; it is normally very dry; one winter will have 2 inches of snow, the next will have eight feet. The flora and fauna here are very hardy breeds. The elevation is 5400 feet above sea level.

New 400 watt wind generator provided by my youngest son Jeremiah.
Also are two BP 90 watt solar panels; inside the enclosure are two 8 battery (160 lb. ea)
deep cycle batteries systems, and inverters; the wind generator is rigged so we can apply the
power to either system. The wind generator is not high enough yet, but it will have
to do for the time being.

Here is Jeremiah my son with his wife Huong and Julia

Here Jeremiah is helping me fix fence; was badly in need of repair
after two years of neglect.

Julia and Huong sitting amidst wild flowers in our upper pasture

And, here we are again with Willie...our Australian shepherd

Jeremiah in the kitchen cleaning up...

Huong eating breakfast...

This is how the wind generator appears now, however
this is all a temporary setup; we will move the whole system
in a few months..

This is what the birds are alarmed about...

Tieing up a fence in our upper pasture...

Super dog Willie...

I am looking for a piece of wire I dropped...

These are wild flowers my wife picked this morning.

This is a potted plant Jeremiah and Huong brought as a Mother's Day gift; it is
a bit drooped; Julia repotted it...

These are just a sample of our wild flowers in the spring, except this year (2007)
has been exceptional.

My younger brother Richard where he sits for days repairing
generators; he is an expert on them...
